Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) is a family-owned regional supermarket operator headquartered in Tyler, Texas, founded on September 1, 1928 when W.T. Brookshire opened a 2,500-square-foot store on the downtown Tyler courthouse square. It now runs more than 200 stores across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma under six banners: Brookshire's, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market, FRESH by Brookshire's, Reasor's and FRESH by Reasor's. The company calls its workforce employee-partners and states it employs more than 19,000 of them; it also operates three distribution centers and in-house manufacturing plants in the Tyler area. It has been Great Place to Work-Certified every year since 2020.
