The LEGO Group is a Danish family-owned toy company founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen in Billund, Denmark, where it is still headquartered. Its interlocking plastic brick system, launched in its modern form in 1958, has made LEGO one of the world's largest and most valuable toy brands, with products spanning classic building sets, licensed themes, LEGO Technic, DUPLO and digital play. The group employs over 31,000 people worldwide and is owned by the Kristiansen family through KIRKBI A/S. Beyond Billund it runs regional hubs in Boston, London, Singapore and Shanghai (with a Copenhagen hub planned for 2027), around 37 sales offices and five factories.
