Southern Waste Systems (SWS) / Sun Recycling was a privately held, full-service solid waste collection, disposal and recycling company serving South Florida, operating under four business units: Southern Waste Systems, Sun Recycling, Sun Disposal and All Star Toilets. Founded in 1999 by Anthony Lomangino and Charles Gusmano, it grew from a single recycling yard in Pompano Beach to roughly 12 facilities and became Florida's largest recycler of construction and demolition debris. In January 2016 Waste Management Inc. of Florida completed a ~$525 million acquisition of its business assets, bringing more than 750 employees into WM.
