Tamar Regional Council (est. May 1956) governs the southern Dead Sea region — 1.7M dunams including Ein Gedi, Neve Zohar, Ein Tamar, Neot HaKikar and Har Amsa. One of Israel's smallest resident populations but major tourism and Dead Sea Works tax revenues.
