The Wendy's Company (Nasdaq: WEN) is an American quick-service restaurant holding company and the franchisor of the Wendy's hamburger chain. Founded by Dave Thomas in Columbus, Ohio in 1969, it is best known for made-to-order square hamburgers using fresh, never-frozen beef, plus chili, baked potatoes, chicken sandwiches and the Frosty dessert. The company operates through Wendy's U.S., Wendy's International and Global Real Estate & Development segments, with roughly 7,000 restaurants worldwide, the large majority franchised. It is headquartered at One Dave Thomas Boulevard in Dublin, Ohio.
