Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Role Mission Own Commtact’s product and technology roadmap, serve as the company’s technological lighthouse, and lead innovation across tactical communications while connecting market needs, business priorities, and technology choices. Key Responsibilities Own and continuously shape the product and technology roadmap, translating customer needs and market trends into clear technology priorities. Act as the company’s technological lighthouse across tactical communications, datalinks, SDR, SATCOM, anti-jam communications, RF and UAV-related communications. Lead technology scouting, innovation initiatives, architecture reviews, design reviews and technical surveys. This is a hands-on CTO role, not a presentation-only position. Maintain direct technical engagement with strategic customers, partners, suppliers and relevant technology ecosystems. Create strong linkage between commercial/marketing inputs and R&D, ensuring that technology decisions reflect market direction and differentiated customer value. Challenge and validate key architectural choices, technology readiness, make/buy decisions and long-term platform evolution. Support product strategy, technical positioning, proposals and strategic customer discussions where executive-level technical leadership is required. Work closely with the VP R&D while respecting a clear boundary: the VP R&D retains responsibility for development-team management and execution. Required Experience & Qualifications At least 10 years of relevant experience in communications technologies closely related to Commtact’s domains. Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline. Strong background in RF communications, SDR, digital communications and system architecture; experience in tactical communications, UAV datalinks, SATCOM and/or anti-jam systems is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to lead substantive technical reviews and to work hands-on with engineers and technical data. Experience linking technology roadmaps to product strategy, market needs and customer requirements. Defense-industry and international customer exposure is a strong advantage. Excellent English communication skills; ability to represent the company credibly with technical and executive stakeholders. Additional Advantage / Potential Scope Expansion Practical understanding and experience in algorithms relevant to communication systems is considered an advantage. This may include areas such as signal processing, communications algorithms, estimation, synchronization, coding/modulation, interference mitigation, networking optimization or related algorithmic disciplines. Leadership Profile Technically deep, intellectually curious and decisive, with the credibility to challenge assumptions and guide senior engineers. Strategic enough to define direction, practical enough to roll up sleeves and drive technical clarification when needed. Collaborative and low-ego, able to influence across R&D, product, commercial and executive teams without taking over line-management responsibilities.
