The Frydman Lab at the Department of Chemical and Biological Physics of the Weizmann Institute is seeking candidates interested in performing supervised undergraduate research. The main effort of the research will be to develop suitable phantom (mechanical+electromagnetic+physiological) models for optimizing new groundbreaking experiments we are developing to detect cancer by MRI. Our ultimate aim is to provide personalized, early diagnosis of challenging cancers including prostate, pancreatic, ovarian and breast cancers. Achieving this requires substantial optimizations, and for that phantoms compatible with our human 3T and 7T Siemens scanners are needed. Backgrounds in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Materials Sciences and Bioengineering, are ideally suited for this kind of research; students with engineering experience (RF, microwaves, antennas) for projects involving hardware design and construction, are also suitable. Hours are flexible but a working load of ca. 20 hs/week is expected.
The research will provide a unique experience for the pursuit of an academic or industrial career. Further information on our group’s activities can be found in this LinkedIn page. Those interested in being considered for this position should email their Vitae to lucio.frydman@weizmann.ac.il. Please include transcripts of your grades and names of two referen
